Find a thread to pull and we can watch it unravel.
But this is just the start.
We’ll find out who we are.
Threads by Now, Now is one of my top 25 albums of all time including being my favorite record with a female lead vocalist. Threads is cohesive and atmospheric anchored by the many instrumental parts between verses and after choruses. A great record for those late night drives processing life.
I would like to talk about what I find to be an unwillingness to unravel I find I have and wonder if you can relate with. I let my problems and issues thread and intertwine to the point where they feel impossible to untie. But I believe that I am far more afraid of what will be left if I try to sort things out than if I just let things be.
For example, I don’t take nearly enough time to sit in silence or come to God in prayer. The reason why is because I will have to be confronted with myself. I will be reminded of all the areas I am falling short or not prioritizing life correctly. I would rather just listen to music or watch T.V. than face myself and these issues.
It is vital that we let God pull our threads. It is necessary that we unravel. It will be messy. It will be difficult. It will be annoying. And it might be discouraging at first. But it will also be refining. It will be rewarding. It will be fulfilling. And it will be encouraging in the long haul.
