Japanese Breakfast – Soft Sounds From Another Planet

First Jay Som, now Japanese Breakfast. Genres are weird, but these two bands kinda go together. They are female led, a bit of alternative, a bit of indie pop, a bit of a lot of stuff. And though Japanese Breakfast’s new record Soft Sounds From Another Planet isn’t quite as well-structured and melodic as Jay Som’s Everybody Works, I really like what I hear. This record helps broaden my horizons as a listener kinda blindly wandering into this “genre” or whatever you’d like to call it of music that sounds like this. And due to my lack of experience or understanding, I could definitely see this record growing on me a lot with more exposure.
